hi there
I have encountered a weird problem for several months since I changed my PC, I don't think it is a jwildfire bug because previously everything was working fine, but maybe an outdated ASUS system lib?
this problem appears in version 2.0 but recently I bought the win10 version of Steam and the problem is still present:
when the cursor hovers over buttons it opens as many windows

ASUS ROG STRIX GL 702 VS
Win 10 familly 20H2 version:19042.746

Another user has a similar prioblem, I'm trying to work on it, but currently I have no clue, becaue I can not reproduce it my any means.
There is nothing special about the buttons or windows, so it is yet unclear what might be the cause.

Could you please try to select another Look&Feel? For example "System" and another (different to "Nimbus") and check if it behaves the same?

Andreas

Another idea:

could you try to activate one of the following jvm-parameters:

a) Enable OpenGL
-Dsun.java2d.opengl=True

or

b) Disable DirectDraw
-Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true

Those parameters can be set in the file JWildfire.cfg in the folder <SteamApps>\common\JWildfire\app under the line "[JavaOptions]".
Only one of those parameters should be set at the same time.

I think everything will be fine now you are the best !!
TY

a little other question, in previous versions it was possible to define memory size to use in the home screen, i do not find this param now in win10 version, where is it hidden?

Nice to hear that there is now a workaround!

The bad is that you have to update this properties after each update of the app via Steam, I'm also looking for a solution for that.

To increase the memory size, you use the same place: just edit the parameter -Xmx8G to your needs (8G means 8 GB. So to use 16GB, just change the 8 to 16)

Cheers!

you see if it worked in the System Information dialog, i. e. there is displayed how much memory is reserved. But, I don't think that you will need 128 GB (do you really have more than 128 GB ram in your machine?) for this image

you're right actually I 'only' have 32G of RAM but not knowing how much I need 100G is out of bounds value, I would not receive a message out of memory after 14h calculations :)
but the problem is that I can't even record the rendering I have an immediate error message 'java heap space' I ask 32G in cfg but I have only 8G in system

my cfg file :
[JavaOptions]
-splash:app/splash.png
-Xmx32G
-Dsun.java2d.opengl=True

system information (after clear cache):
Operating system: Windows 10
Available processors: 8 cores
Java version: 15
Maximum memory: 8 GB
Free memory (approximated): 7.9 GB

yet this flame of high definition and large dimensions I can make it with my old version 2.6 and 32G

If the value is too high, it is ignored (in the past the jvm did not start, but this might have changed).
When you have 32GB, you will not have 32GB for JWildfire. The operating system and other programs will reduce the available memory.

So, maybe you should try 24GB and then try to go up.
Depends on how much your operating system and other programs use.

Btw, to render huge images, you may also use the quilt renderer

Cheers!

I tested with 16,24,32G the values of the .cfg are not recorded by the application and the allocated memory stubbornly remains at 8G while the windows tasks manager tells me 24G of free memory.
I will go back to my old version 2.6 from the 30's

thank you for everything
