Hi,
I am trying to learn custom variation from http://www.andreas-maschke.de/java/jwil ... rial04.pdf. This is very old and doesn't seem to work in version 6.22.
The screenshot shows the rectangle (lightess part) with fading shadows on each sides.
Since the formula only triples the pVarTP.x value of the square transform, how can I get results outside the rectangle? What do I have to add to restrict the result to a 1 by 3 rectangle.
I hope my description is comprehensible.
If this tutorial is to old, is there a better one?

Grateful for your comments,
Pierre

Thanks Brad for your comments.

I did hid the square in the Color Tab as mentioned in the tutorial.
If it is not hidden, one square shows in the middle.

I attached the flame file, if you want to verify where I goofed

Thanks again for your support

Thank you so much Brad,
Newbie error, I didn't think of it as it wasn't mentioned.
It's a good lesson.
